Just recently we had time to shoot the band scene, which from what I can recall we didnt want to use, but on review we drew up a storyboard and checked whether it fitted in nicely, to which it did. After doing a few test shots we got busy into shooting a proper band scene. this took us the better part of three hours mainly because we brought all the intruments to Harry's house and set the instruments up on his decking, which placed the band at a higher level which made shooting low close ups much easier, with the spring sky complementing the mise en scene (the general 'feel good' feeling of the band and the music video) showing continuity.
The day seemed almost perfect except when we wanted to start filming and we'd realised that the battery had run dead, unfortunatly we hadnt any time to recharge it the last time so we had to charge it now which took and hours worth of out time. Once the battery was charged we had been shooting the band scene for no longer than half an hour when the heavens opend and rain started bomabrading us, what seemed like the perfect day was just getting worse. However we agreed that we'd come so far that we wouldnt give up, just then the skys cleared and blazing sunshine poured through (just a passing cloud apparently), both tad and i took turns in shooting at different angles and lengths to hopefully help create a fast paced band scene when edited of course.
We are now on the final legs of shooting and are near completion of our music video...

For a while now Tad and I have been considerably weighed down with work and haven't actually found time to film the last lengths of our video. We agreed at first that the video shouldnt have a narrative as most MV do, unfortunately, try as we may our own storyboard kept on staying towards a narrative of some form yet we still wanted to keep the video as random as possible. So we decided that we'd have a bit of both, a fusion almost between spontaneity and narrative. So in the end we had a shot of where the main character in our MV gets sent out of his girlfriends house for being too "playful" and goes out in a mood and spots another attractive girl who he entices into his red van and Tad and I drive off with the pair in the back. (Very Provocative.)
We decided that due to the spontaneity of the band's overall and the genre of the music they make that the location of the "band scene" should be set in a entirely random place, like someones back garden on the decking, thus keeping up with the mise en scene of the music video.
We got quite a lot of filming done today and I can honestly say we are near completion of the video. In terms of shooting the band, we wanted to get as many different camera angles and zooms of the band to allow us to edit the overall amount of shots in to a quick changing transitional part of the band playing the song.
Because we wanted a variation in the "Lets Make Out" Montages we went on a totally spur of the moment idea and decided to film both Tad and I shouting LMO at the camera, but in each transition we were wearing a different item of clothing.

Plan january
For January we plan to have a complete section of band footage that we can then begin to edit. we hope to have re-filmed a lot of our "lets make out" montage and plan to finish editing it and make sure that the mise en scene fits in with the video and add more consistency to the video. this will allow us to go full steam into editing.
we need a lot more focus on a main character to give the video more narrative.
UPDATE!!! !!!
Here is an update of were i am with my music video!
I have filmed a fair amount, around 2 hours worth. however as for editing we have about two minutes worth. So far it is looking rather average, the main problem i am facing is the "mise en scene" within the video. It doesn't have an effective consistency throughout, i feel we have too many locations and far too many characters for their to be any sort of narrative. I know that this was the desired effect, but i feel at the moment its starting too get a bit too busy. Instead we need a select few character's and some definite locations. On the upside, at the moment the lip sinking is going very well and fits effectively with the lyrics. We also have a good minute of editing that we can use, however their is still a lot more work to do and some re shooting to be done.
Tad and i have looked at another students work, "Amber" as she is doing a similar upbeat music video to us. we looked at her editing and the way in which she had made two parts to her video with a narrative and band footage, we realised how effective this was and realised that we need to get on and film our band scenes so that we can see how it will look for us and allow us to have further progression.

2nd shooting
Slightly better yesterday.
Got a large amount of filming done and filmed the majority of the opening, still a little more to do and we plan to finish the filming today.
The only problem was i couldnt start the editing process last night as their was now charging pack inside the macbook- bag and thefore couldnt charge my mac book resulting in clips not being put together, this will have to be done. In the future i shall prepare the macbook and check for equipement thoroughly.

Well filming was a flop!!
Not the best of starts!!!
okay so firstly, location. couldn't shoot in the living room we wanted to use for our short paced scene as the people that lived there were out for the day. There went that plan.
Secondly, When it came to our outdoor scene we turned on the camera got it all sorted, to realize our tape had been left at school.
NO FILMING DONE!!!
Our first set back and we really hope its the last.
Tad and i plan to film on wednesday during our frees of what needs to be done in the drama studio.
Next time we will make sure we are much better equiped and prepared as we cant afford any more set backs.
